The original artwork was housed in the Malcolm Collection in the British Museum. Jean Antoine Watteau Jean Antoine Watteau (1684 1721) was most recognized for his French Rococo style, as well as his aristocratic genre paintings, theater set design and war and military scenes. Watteau studied under Claude Gillot and Audran, as well as
