This is an original 1893 halftone print of a scene in Cairo Street at the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. One of the attractions of Cairo Street was the wedding procession in which the bride, astride a camel, was preceded by the camel mounted drummer pictured here. (Please note that, typical of halftone prints, there is printing on the reverse.) Period Paper has obtained a wonderful set of halftone images of the 1893 Chicago World's
